Downy Mildew Alert

On June 9, 2006 Dr. Mary Hausbeck of MSU confirmed the presence of Downy Mildew in Cantaloupes growing in Monroe County, Michigan.  As many of you already know this is a very fast moving and destructive disease.  If any of you have concerns about Downy Mildew in any of your crops please feel free to contact Mark Vander Werff (877-969-1122) or Creela Hamlin (269-214-6924) at Hamilton Agronomy.

This link is the Cucurbit Downy Mildew forecast which is generated on Tuesday and Thursday each week from April through October.  Timely information on the occurrence of Cucurbit Downey Mildew and the future movement of inoculums (fungus spores) across North America are given for this devastating disease.
